Air France International Baggage Allowance
I recently flew with Air France on an international route and thought I’d share a few tips about the Air France International Baggage Allowance, especially for anyone booking Economy fares.
If you're traveling on an Economy Light ticket, keep in mind that it doesn't include any checked baggage — just one cabin bag and a personal item (combined weight should be under 12kg). I made the mistake of assuming a checked bag was included and ended up paying extra at the airport.
Here’s a quick breakdown by fare class:
Economy Light: Cabin baggage only
Economy Standard/Flex: 1 checked bag (23kg)
Premium Economy: 2 checked bags (23kg each)
Business Class: 2 checked bags (32kg each)
La Première: 3 checked bags (32kg each)
They also check carry-on weight at some gates, especially on full flights, so it’s better to be on the safe side.
